Ta'leem

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Ta'leem processes and how it is used when you or your academy use the platform.

Last updated: 11 August 2026

1. Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to academy admins, teachers, students, and other users who access Ta'leem through an academy workspace, as well as visitors to our public pages.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Ta'leem, we may process:

  • Account details such as username, name, email, and role
  • Academy profile information such as name, contact details, and description
  • Learning activity such as course enrollments, lesson progress, attendance, assignments, and submissions
  • Login and device information used for trusted-device controls and security
  • Technical logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service

3. How we use information

We use this information to:

  • Provide and operate academy workspaces and learning features
  • Authenticate users and enforce trusted-device and access controls
  • Show progress, attendance, and compliance information to authorized staff
  • Communicate about account access, security, and important service changes
  • Maintain platform security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues

4. Academy responsibility

Each academy controls its own workspace, including who is invited, what content is uploaded, and how staff use student information. Academy admins are responsible for using Ta'leem in line with their own policies and applicable education or privacy laws.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers who help us host, store, send email, or secure the platform, only as needed to operate Ta'leem. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.

6. Retention

We retain account and learning records for as long as an academy workspace remains active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. When an academy or account is deleted, associated data is removed or anonymized according to our operational practices.

7. Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a learning platform, including authentication, trusted-device controls, and access restrictions by role. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and academies should also protect credentials and device access.

8. Your choices

Users can update profile information available in the portal. For access, correction, or deletion requests related to academy-managed student or staff records, contact your academy admin first. Platform-level requests can be directed to the Ta'leem operator supporting your deployment.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Ta'leem after an update means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact

Questions about privacy can be raised with your academy administrator, or through the contact details provided when your academy was registered on Ta'leem.
